Requirements to be an active member:
- I have maintained an overall “A” average, a 90 or higher.
- I have taken all honors/DE/AP core classes (4 English, 4 Math, 4 Science, and 4 Social Studies over the course of 4 years).
- I commit to performing 12 service hours in the fall semester of 2025 via NHS and the community and 12 service hours in the spring of 2026 and all subsequent semesters.
- Household expectations like cutting grass and babysitting do not count as service
- 6 of the 12 hours per semester must be from in-club promoted events
- I will attend all NHS meetings that occur on the first Wednesday of every month
Future Members:
- Starting with the class of 2027, you must have two active years to earn the stole at graduation
- If you would like to join as a senior, you would be required to get DOUBLE the amount of hours if you wish to earn the stole
- If a senior would like to join and be an active member, they could get the required 12 hours per semester but they would NOT earn the stole
Probation:
- How to get on probation?
- Miss more than 2 meetings
- Go below the required GPA one semester
- How to get off of probation?
- Academic probation - bring up GPA by next semester or you will be dismissed
- Absences- You will need to get 15 hours for the next semester or you will be dismissed
How to get dismissed from NHS:
- Stop taking all honors
- Go below required gpa for 2 semesters
- Behavior misconduct (referrals) or academic misconduct (cheating)
- Do not get required service hours by the due date
- If you get probation for more than one reason, you will immediately be released from the organization
